Authors use special language to help us picture things. For each quote, write the type (simile, metaphor, personification, or hyperbole) and what it means.
| Quote from the story | Type | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| “The radiator bangs all night like somebody’s hitting it with a spoon.” | ||
| “Gus could sleep through a parade.” | ||
| “It’s white. Smooth white, like a candle.” | ||
| “The cold hits me like a wall.” |
